Hello!
My name is Sarah Smith and I am from Naperville, Illinois. I am a recent graduate from Michigan State University with a BA in Journalism and minors in sports journalism and media photography. The gear I use for my photography is a Canon 1DX mark ii and a 70-200mm F/2.8 lens, with occasional use of a Canon EOS 90D and a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens.
My Story
I am a 22-year-old aspiring sports photographer who is from Naperville, Illinois. I started my sports photography journey over the summer of 2021 when I had an internship as the team photographer for the Kane County Cougars minor league baseball team in Aurora, Illinois, and I have been loving it ever since. I got involved with WDBM Impact at Michigan State, and had a lot of fun capturing the action and telling the stories of various Michigan State athletes. After I graduated from Michigan State in May 2023, I was hired as a freelance photographer for Athletes Unlimited Professional Sports. I covered AU's 2023 Softball season in Rosemont, IL and AU's 2023 Volleyball season in Mesa, Arizona.

I grew up as a huge sports fan, especially the Chicago Cubs. I knew I wanted a career in sports because of how passionate I am about the sports industry, and who wouldn't love to work in a world they have followed for their entire life?
